Thrive Alliance Community Center – Initial Grant Application

1. Executive Summary

Thrive Alliance Community Center, a program of Leveling Up with Michelle Inc., is requesting $100,000 in grant funding to support the implementation and expansion of the Meet the Future You Youth Empowerment Program. This initiative focuses on strengthening emotional wellness, leadership capacity, and life skills among middle and high school students in Marin County and surrounding communities.

Young people today face growing levels of stress, anxiety, and social pressure, often without access to meaningful mentorship or emotional wellness education. While schools emphasize academic achievement, many students lack opportunities to develop essential life skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, and leadership. The Meet the Future You program addresses this gap by providing structured youth programming that helps students build confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose.

The proposed program will serve 40–60 students annually, offering interactive workshops, mentorship opportunities, leadership projects, and family engagement activities. In addition to supporting youth development, the initiative will lay the groundwork for establishing the Thrive Alliance Community Center, a future hub for youth leadership, mentorship, and family wellness programs.

Grant funding will support curriculum development, program materials, workshop facilitation, scholarships for youth in need, outreach coordination, and early planning for the future community center.

2. Organizational Background

Over the past three years, the organization has successfully launched youth leadership and wellness programs in Marin County, built partnerships with local schools and community organizations, and hosted community events that promote youth empowerment and personal growth.

The organization continues to expand its programming and community partnerships while working toward the long-term goal of establishing a permanent Thrive Alliance Community Center.

3. Statement of Need

Adolescence represents a critical developmental stage where young people begin forming their identity, building social relationships, and developing emotional coping skills. However, many youth today face increasing levels of stress, anxiety, and social pressure without adequate guidance or mentorship.

Academic institutions often prioritize academic performance but may not have the resources or time to address students’ emotional development and leadership growth. As a result, many students struggle with confidence, communication skills, emotional regulation, and decision-making.

Students who lack supportive mentorship and emotional wellness tools may face difficulties navigating peer relationships, managing stress, and making healthy life choices. These challenges can affect academic performance, family relationships, and long-term personal development.

The Meet the Future You Youth Empowerment Program was designed to address these challenges by providing structured programming that supports emotional wellness, leadership development, and life skills training. By equipping youth with practical tools and supportive mentorship, the program helps young people develop confidence, resilience, and a positive vision for their future.
